Bike Trip Blog

Terrible, Horrible, Very Bad Day

Sorry about the delay in my blog, it has been a rough couple of days. Unfortunately on Tuesday afternoon, dad had a bike accident in super rural Louisiana. Tom was involved but came out of it with only a few scrapes and a torn up helmet. Luckily after being care flighted to a hospital and having surgery for facial lacerations he is doing great now, I can’t belive how tough he is. At this point dad and I will not be continuing the ride right now, he’s not allowed to ride right now and needs too heal. Tom is continuing on to the end and should be done in a couple of weeks. Hopefully at some point in the future we will be able to complete the ride, I’m so proud that we were able to make it this far and I can’t belive how strong we all have become. Thank you so much for all your love and support, it has been so nice sharing my journey with you all!

  6. Hi Tatum, how are you all going? How has your Dad recovered, and what are you up to now? Will and I are enjoying the West Australian sun. Trying to cycle as much as we can, but could always do more. Love to hear from you all, wiljen@westnet.com.au. Cheers to everybody, hope you are staying warm. ☀️☀️🍻😃🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️

  7. Tatum and Family - My daughter, Sheri Blaisdell, has been following your incredible trip and was just catching up only to read of your Pop’s fall. I guess it is old news now, but certainly hope he - and you all - are recovered and well! With Best Thoughrs and all Best Wishes - Dick and Anne Gould

  9. Well done Tatum, I know it would have been tough to put this out to the world. But all of us followers, and future readers, find it inspiring to hear and relieving to know, that you all are okay. What you all achieved together has been fantastic, and as you say, you have all grown so much stronger, in body and mind. What an amazing Mum and Dad you have, and your Dad IS a beast. Will and I are so lucky to have met you all, and look forward to hearing about the completion of this journey, when you get to it. If you are in Australia, look us up. Lots of Love to you all.
